U.S. Attorney General Admits Marijuana Is Not a Gateway drug.
For all of those who grew up in the 90’s and participated in the drug awareness program, D.A.R.E. – Drug Abuse Resistance Education, we were taught that marijuana was a gateway drug to harder drugs such as, cocaine and heroin…this is no longer the case.
Now the U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is saying that marijuana is not a gateway drug, but the real culprit, prescription drugs are the reason we have such a big problem with opioid addiction in our country. News coming out of California tells that for a lot of people, this information comes a little too late to change the effect that the choices during adolescence had amongst people.
High school students in California recently sat down to listen to Lynch speak during Prescription Opioid Heroin Epidemic Awareness Week. Lynch said “In so many cases, it isn’t trafficking rings that introduce a person to opioids, it’s the seemingly harmless household medicine cabinet. That’s the source,” as reported by International Business Times. Hard drug abuse doesn’t always stem from prescriptions drugs; simply being open to trying any drugs whether it be tobacco or alcohol makes you susceptible to being exposed to harder drugs. That’s where the stigma about marijuana came from originally, as it’s arguably the “safest” and most accessible drug to people in their earlier years of life.
We’re coming to realize that you have to take responsibility for your own actions and know that maybe that one group of friends that you hang out with on the weekend who are always getting into trouble might be the ones steering you in the wrong direction. We must all never forget that we each have the power to control our own actions.
We appreciate U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch for speaking out in California and clearing things up for our youth that marijuana is not a gateway drug. With the media covering medical marijuana so much recently and it becoming a more important and prevalent issue on politicians agendas, it is important to have someone speak up about the truth of marijuana. All kinds of vices can lead youth and adults astray from who you really want to be; the important thing to remember is: never be afraid to be yourself, and that you are the only one in control of your actions.
More and more individuals every day are learning the truth about marijuana and bringing it to the publics eye. However great this is, we must still remember that not all cannabis and marijuana products are grown and handled equally. Everyone must strive to fight for pesticide free, organic cannabis with seed to sale origins in order to ensure humanities safety. W Vapes products, along with a handful of others, are all 100% pure, organic, safe cannabis.
